Legal Analyst/ Legal Counsel

Minimum Qualifications:🚶‍♀️
Law degree, 2 - 4 years of practical experience (corporate or commercial) with a desire to work in a fast-paced, scaling environment alongside colleagues spread across the globe.
Knowledge and understanding of data privacy and GDPR and relevant regulatory requirements in the UK and the EU. Knowledge of regulatory requirements within banking or payment services is desired but not a requirement.
Proactive, organized, and able to task manage and execute many deliverables independently and with a team.
Self-starter, strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bring a positive, can-do attitude to the workplace and be curious to learn and support as many business areas as possible.
Passion for problem-solving and an ability to work independently.

What: 👨‍🚀
Facilitate the business objectives of Juni by providing practical, timely, and effective legal support while minimizing legal and regulatory risks in a fast-paced scaling environment. You will play an important role in our legal team and act as a problem-solver for the business, focusing primarily on data privacy and GDPR. You will be reviewing and drafting various data processing agreements, commercial contracts, and data privacy policies, support on vendor and outsourcing arrangements, and provide ongoing legal support to the business.

The Crew: 👥
Our team right now is 70, and we're growing quick with ambitions to become 150+ in the next few months, we're looking to hire across Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Product, Customer Success, Data and Finance along with a variety of other roles, you'll see a lot of new crew members joining the Juniverse!

Responsibilities: 📋
Advise the business on data privacy and GDPR matters and be the subject matter expert within the legal team with support from external legal counsel if required.
Assess and curate internal data processing agreements, records, and obligations.
Reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, data privacy agreements, and data privacy policies.
Support with onboarding of service providers and vendors and assist with deliverables for engagements.
Assess vendor and outsourcing arrangements in cooperation with the business.
Advise Juni’s departments on legal questions arising from various operational processes including, contract queries, regulatory requirements, and data privacy and GDPR matters.
Help manage and refine template agreements and assist in the ongoing management of our contract process from creation onwards.
Assist with regulatory filings and applications where appropriate.
Monitor, assess, and advise the business on legal issues that impact product development and distribution.
Stay on top of relevant regulations and legal updates affecting Juni and its customers and advise colleagues on potential risks and opportunities.

Within 1 month you'll:
Understand how Juni works, get integrated with your team, and hit the ground running when it comes to your role.
Help assess our current controls and procedures and suggest solutions for improvements.

Within 3 months you'll:
Take a starring role within data privacy, GDPR, data protection, and other legal matters and understand the responsibilities of the legal team.
Be comfortable with having GDPR, data privacy, and various legal questions raised to you for analysis and decision.
Working alongside your fellow compliance and legal team members to make sure that our governance and controls are focused on the right matters.

Within 6 months you'll:
Be playing a central role in ensuring that the business receives effective and timely legal support.
Proactively engaging with various departments within Juni and continuously supporting the responsibilities of the legal team.
Be an integral part of the product and commercial teams, helping them design and deliver creative and compliant solutions to continue to improve the Juni platform.
