Mid-Market Account Executive

At Help Scout, the sales team serves as a trusted advisor for prospects and customers. As an Account Executive on the Mid-Market sales team, you will work with prospects through the entire buying process, from initial evaluation to close, and through onboarding of the entire team. You will be the primary point of contact until post onboarding when you will hand off to our Account Management team. Quite simply, you’ll have the opportunity to impact mid size businesses in a big way on a daily basis.
This is a full-time, remote position.
About the role
Most of your time will be spent positioning the value of Help Scout with stakeholders through demos, email and phone. There’s a reason we call you a trusted advisor-- this is less about the hard sell and more about having the product knowledge, passion and people skills to help the prospect make the best decision for their needs.
Effectively manage a pipeline of inbound opportunities so that you can consistently drive revenue for Help Scout and strong ROI for our customers.
Become an expert in assessing the use case of the prospect and customizing your presentation based on the prospects company size, industry and desired customer support experience.
Proactively report on learnings and valuable feedback to the product team so that we can improve the product and prioritize the right projects.
A deep knowledge on the evolving Help Scout product and understand the nuances of how it can be used so that you’re able to support prospects accordingly.
Responsible for hitting sales metrics of success as well as providing timely and accurate forecasts and clear visibility into revenue performance.
You are a top performer in an inside/mid-market sales role with 2+ years experience closing net new logos (SaaS experience is a bonus but not required).
You have a track record of achieving or exceeding sales quota.
You are in sales because you are self motivated and driven to succeed. You love winning and helping your customers achieve their goals.
You are naturally curious and have a history of learning new things quickly. This is especially important in a remote company like Help Scout, as you won’t always have people nearby that you can talk to and learn from.
You are excited to be using consultative sales strategies in a competitive market.
You are highly organized and able to manage several responsibilities at once with little oversight.
You have experience tracking all of your sales activity and reports in a customer relationship management software(Salesforce preferred but not required).
As the primary point of contact and a trusted advisor, you’re happy to wear several hats: sales, support, customer success. Over the course of onboarding, you may be point person on any one of them, mobilizing your team mates for support.

You'll be on a team with our other AEs -- Dan and Casey!
You'll also collaborate with our outstanding Customer Support team.
Competitive salary - Our salary formula is public to all employees (but doesn't divulge your specific salary) and we update it at least once per year. Your salary is the same no matter where you live. Our goal is to pay at or above the market rate of a US-based tech hub like Boston or Seattle.
Health and dental insurance - We cover you and your family's health/dental insurance 100%. If you are based in the US, we'll cover you on our Aetna policy. If you're based outside the US, we'll reimburse your out-of-pocket health and dental insurance costs.
Long-term/short-term disability insurance & life insurance - we cover 100% of the premiums for LT/ST disability insurance and base life insurance. You also have the option to purchase supplementary life insurance through our provider (currently US only).
Flexible vacation - Take time off when you need it! We recommend 3-4 weeks in addition to public holidays, but there are no firm rules. We trust you.
