Director of Data Science, Creators and Reels
We are looking for the Director of Data Science for the Creators & Reels organization at Instagram, one of the four product groups for the company. This product team is focused on empowering individuals to become creators, as well as cultivating the best platform for creators to leverage their creativity and forge meaningful communities around entertainment. This leader will report into Instagram's Head of Analytics.
The Director of Data Science is directly responsible for managing the data science team to define experimentation and forecasting and to develop insights that identify the biggest opportunities for the Instagram community and drive overall product strategy for the Creators & Reels product organization. Additionally, this leader is responsible for leadership development and will ensure the organization has capacity to further scale. This leader will serve on Instagram’s analytics leadership team to enable cross-Instagram Analytics collaboration such as recruiting, training, and performance management.
You will enjoy working with one of the richest data sets in the world, cutting edge technology, and the ability to see your insights turned into real products on a regular basis. The ideal candidate will have strong product intuition, experience building and managing analytics teams, will have worked with large data stores, experience building software, and is passionate about working in a mission-driven culture. This is an opportunity to come in on the ground floor of one of the top Meta product priorities as well as help establish Instagram's first non-US office. This leader will be based in London.
Director of Data Science, Creators and Reels Responsibilities
Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
Inspire, lead and grow a team of data scientists.
Lead the definition, development, and launch of initiatives to drive innovation and growth for Instagram.
Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data in developing data-informed strategies for growing and improving our product offerings.
Understand Instagram’s strategic and competitive position and deliver experiences that are recognized best in the industry.
Partner with, and influence through data, other teams across Meta's Family of Apps.
* 15+ years of work experience managing analytics teams, working collaboratively with Product, Engineering and cross-functional partners, and guiding data-influenced product planning, prioritization and strategy development.
* Demonstrated experience in hiring, retaining and scaling geographically dispersed, high-performing teams.
Demonstrated experience influencing product strategy and drive change across organizational boundaries through clear and compelling communication of data-driven insights and analyses.
